“Shaking Off” is the literal translation of the Arabic word intifada (انتفاضة) which can also be translated as “uprising” or “throwing rocks at Jews.” Intifada is a word that is often used by opponents of democracy to justify their terrorist ways. I’m taking it “back”. LOL.
Basically this blog is about whatever I want it to be but mainly I focus on politics, religion and music because those are the subjects that most interest me and I am most knowledgeable about. I’m a Christian democrat, plain and simple, but more convoluted terms like “third way radical centrist” could also apply. I am deeply conservative but have largely discontinued using the term due to it being hijacked by morally bankrupt economic liberals. As for religion I’m a church‐going Christian who was raised Mennonite but lapsed into agnosticism for a few years before rediscovering my creator. Music interests range from John Cage to Gregorian chant to Nilsson.
